For my zine, I have been playing around with a lot of different concepts although I know one thing for sure, I want to base it on personal experiences I have had. If I am able to speak to the subject and have a personal connection to it, I feel it will make it that much more meaningful. I want my zine to tell some sort of story with underling themes and messages. Some themes I am considering is what it means to be feminine and how that's different for different people, finding confidence in your hair (specifically referring to curly girls), or potentially moderation and balance. Currently, I'm leaning more towards the curly hair story because I feel I have a lot of inspiration and understanding of this concept. I want to choose a color palette that gives colors significance and allows for more cohesiveness. I want to use symbolism as well to incorporate more hidden meanings. Some symbols I have considered thus far include hair itself as a symbol of femininity and strength, flowers as a symbol of growth, rain as a symbol of sadness or despair, and some others as well. I am going to begin laying out how I would like my visual piece to look while considering all of the aspects I have mentioned.
