For this sound project, my goal is to create a piece that tells a story. I wanted to illustrate a walk through my neighborhood using sounds and expressing a clear beginning, middle, and end point. I want to explicitly go on a walk and write down what I see, feel, and experience as it comes. Then, I hope to align my own personal anecdotes with the sounds our class collects to the best of my ability. By telling a story, involving what I’m seeing and feeling through sound, it will help guide my piece more explicitly. I really enjoy synchronicity when it comes to music so I think it is going to be difficult for me to break that normalcy for myself. I’m going to continuously encourage myself to do something different than what I am used to and use sounds that I like, not because they all go well together audibly.
